Are night owls lunatics? :-) I have verged on being a night owl most of my life. As such, I often set out bird feeders before morning light and have the delight of knowing my local wildlife during that time, as well as the night sky and the moon. Moonlight is such a pretty thing! Many gardens have been created in olden days to highlight it's silvery light. It certainly lends itself to a magical quality.

We often speak of the sun and moon 'rising', when of course they are stationary and it is the earth which continues to spin! We have always only seen one side of the moon until very recently when a satellite or two has passed by it's far side. Ah yes 'the far side!' LOL Our language likes to play with the moon.

Bartenders know a thing or two about the moon's effect on people. It is when certain types are brought to life. There is little doubt in my mind that we humans are influenced by the moon whether or not we even see the moon. We are in about the same proportion as the earth with regard to the percentage of our body fluids. Even educated people will acknowledge the moons influence on the earth's oceans, why would we humans be immune from such pulls and withdrawals? Perhaps during a time when our lives were not so full of minute-by-minute distractions it was easier to see the patterns of human behavior at different phases of the moon. I seem to recall such things as arson and other crazed behavior were more likely to happen at the full of the moon. But, as I mentioned at the start, there have always been those who found delight in the same full moon! Leave it to us humans to be multifaceted. :-)

Gorgeous. Imagine seeing moon shadows on a regular basis! What a thing that would be. On that note, I recently saw a Milky Way shadow - on a moonless night in Nevada, where the Milky Way was so bright it cast shadows. We live in a magical world indeed, if only we take the time to see it.
