The vulgarity of replacing ecosystems to "save the planet" is sickening. The planet doesn't need human energy infrastructure so humans can continue mindlessly wasting energy and resources, it needs ecosystems and humans to live within natural limits, not look for more ways to push past them.

I was just reading an article by Bill McKibbon a day or two ago where he was so excited about the fact that so much alternative energy ie. solar and wind farms are being built. All I could think about were the birds dying as they fly above them and all the rest of the plants and animals on the ground, getting wiped out so “we” could have more energy. Truly sickening.

The guy has no right calling himself an environmentalist.

I so agree with you. So many environmentalists are so cooped. We need a less energy dense life, not more energy. But very few people talk about this or want to hear it. I am a boomer. I don’t or understand know why more boomers don’t think about the lives of their grandchildren.

We're trying so hard to accommodate our ever increasing consumption, yet we fail to realise that scaling it down is a better answer.

I am delighted to discover your substack, I appreciate your defense of this exceptional environment. I am also horrified by these environmentalists, who in fact are not, they are part of the globalists and their plans for destruction. Thank you for this beautiful presentation, I look forward to visiting your site and its beautiful photos!

Thank you so much for this and for your clear passion for the Mojave. Appreciate you and your work.

I flew over a large portion of Phoenix recently where I saw so many roofs in business parks and on parking garages, and hundreds of other places we’ve already urbanized and suburbanized. Places you can find in any area developed for human habitat. My question for solar is why on earth are we not using these spaces for energy? Why the farms? Aren’t there enough rooftops in the state and country to accommodate? And oh I know… what if the roofs of any new construction project also had panels as a requirement of said construction? It’s just crazy how we continue to kill off ecosystems due to our inability to scale back our demand and we refuse to repurpose idle space… when we have spaces that could be utilized? But no … we will just keep on destroying the planet only now we will call it green energy. There is no such thing as a green energy. ❤️
