Really excellent interview and information Kollibri! I subscribe to several dryland newsletters because I am also concerned about the impact of such projects on the native ecosystem and its aquifers. My overall, perhaps simplistic, takeaway is that people and their voracious search for resources including energy, are catastrophic for both desert landscapes and their ecosystems and that four years of the incoming Trump administration will only make things worse.
