Thank you for this Kollibri -- most people are "materials blind". I don't know if these people think solar panels grow on trees, or what?!

I really wish we would be honest as a society and teach people what things cost. Not in the monetary way which we focus so much on, but costs in terms of harm done to us and to the planet. It’s crazy when people believe ‘green’ energy is good currently. It’s just a marketing slogan and it’s making some people richer. It’s like the people manufacturing what passes for food and most people having not idea how what they put in their mouths affects their health.

As you point out there is no perfect solution, and we should just try to use less. When has that ever hurt? Try not to have a giant footprint… and think of others or the planet makes sense unless you are conditioned to consume.

Thank you for this eye-opening piece. I knew solar isn’t the magic answer, but I had no idea the amount of energy and toxicity around the manufacturing alone. ❤️
